Let me be a bit blunt here and begin by saying that,IF YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO HAVEN’T SEEN THE NEW TRAILER YET THEN PLEASE…HERE IT IS

AVENGERS – INFINITY WAR (new trailer)

I am pretty sure that no one would have to click on the above link as it already had 28 million views within a day. So there are a lot of speculations going on regarding various ‘stuff’ marvel choose to reveal in this trailer, making the fans more anxious for the movie.

After watching the clip 8 times, a hell lot of questions filled my mind,questions that I need answer to. Though we will have to wait for a few weeks before that happens, I present you,

TOP 5 unanswered questions from the latest trailer of AVENGERS-INFINITY WAR.

(P.S- All the super hardcore comic book fans out there, don’t reveal the answers here!)

1.Why is Thanos so adamant in destroying ‘half the universe’?

The trailer starts with Gamora describing her step dad’s wish to destroy half the universe (with the snap of his fingers,of course. Cause it has to be dramatic!). Later down the video, Thanos again mentions that once he is done, half of humanity will still survive.It certainly is puzzling. Is it that the entire universe would be too hard to rule? Or is it something similar to Noah’s arc where he wants only half of the entire universal species to survive? Guess we will have to find out.

2.Will there be compatibility issues with the Avengers and the Guardians?

As its rightly said, too many cooks spoil the broth, but when the broth’s name is Thanos, you pray you had more cooks!

The trailer clearly shows how pissed Iron man is on some newbie coming into his territory and telling him his plan sucks.

King of NATURAL STUPIDITY V/s Lord of ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

If there wouldn’t have been the threat of Thanos lurking around, we sure would have got ‘Avenger 3 – EGO WAR’. It is true that you need to work together in hard times, and that’s why Iron man chooses to spare Starlord’s life( I guess!)

3.Who is the guy making Dr.Strange scream with agony?

This is one of those questions which gets answered!Its certain that anyone who watches the trailer,googles who that Voldemort look alike character is. A few seconds of surfing on the net will tell you that he is EBONY MAW. His abilities are pretty easy to understand, and very useful indeed. He is able to coax peoples mind and persuade them to do his dirty work.

Doesn’t he look more dangerous than Thanos himself?

It would be very difficult to manipulate someone like Doctor Strange who has been through a great amount of training, especially mental. But the ease Ebony Maw shows while torturing Dr.Strange makes it all the more terrifying.

What actually terrifies me is that there are 4 more villains just like him,may be more powerful. The ‘Children of Thanos’! Can’t wait to encounter them all.

4.What is Thanos thinking when Captain America stops his punch?

Is he admiring Captain’s resolve to stop him? Is he thinking ‘why the futile attempt’? Was he wondering weather I should break his ribs with my other hand? Was he pitying over how weak the leader of the Avengers is?

Josh Brolin sure wants us to wonder about what he is wondering!

There might be 20 more speculations you could make out form the expression Thanos is giving, but one thing is certain he can easily beat the shit out of our beloved Steve Rogers if he wants to.(Where was his shield when he got attacked?)

A couple of notable mentions before I put forth the ultimate question!

a. Why haven’t we heard anything from Hawk eye and Ant man.

b.What exactly is the blazing meteor that reflects on Dr.Strange’s window?

I guess it might be Hulk who is thrown out from the spaceship!

c.What is Suri holding?

A new,updated version of Vision after he gets his Mind stone taken?

d.Does Loki bargain with Thanos for Thor’s life in exchange of the Tesseract?

Looks like Thor can use some help from his little step brother.

e.Is Thanos so strong that he could crush Tesseract into the space stone?

Sure looks like it.

And now finally,

1.Is Iron man going to perish?

We all know that you can’t fight Thanos,his so called children and his army of inter-galactic beasts and emerge out unharmed. Some one will die, but who?

There are more than 3 incidences where it clearly points out which Avenger wouldn’t be in the next part. The newly released poster(the featured image of this blog) shows Iron man like he is trying to protect the humanity and the avengers,all by himself.

Then in the trailer, Hulk Buster is brutally over-powered by the foot soldiers of the opposing army.

Later, Thanos clearly says ‘I hope they remember you’,while Tony is just sitting there, his suit torn apart form his body. Is he thinking some ingenious plan of sacrificing himself or he has accepted that defeat is imminent?

We need you Iron man, please don’t go…

Also, this might be a very silly reason,but there are rumors around that Robert’s contract has ended, but this does point out to something. I just wish he isn’t the one to die.(Kill Starlord and nobody will care!)

TOP 5 reasons you should watch CHAPPIE(2015)

P.S- This post does not have any spoilers, so enjoy the blog post, and the movie later.

Everytime you think about Artificial Intelligence (AI), your mind pictures robots helping the human kind, both races co-existing in peace. But this beautiful fairytale doesn’t last long, and your thoughts are flooded with scenes of AI taking over the world, expressing themselves as the superior species over us. The Terminator series(wonderfully directed) has a major hand in this thought process.

But CHAPPIE, is something different, something beautiful and humane. Lets talk about,

1.A GOOD CAST-

A good cast is as important as the film’s plot itself. It doesn’t matter how good your story is, unless you have a cast to execute it in front of the camera.

I was introduced to this film while going through a list of Hugh Jackman movies. It’s really weird to see him play a role of someone other than Wolverine. Being cast as an antagonist in this film, he does justice to his role.

Dev Patel, of Slumdog Millionaire fame, plays his part of ‘The creator’ wonderfully.

Not to forget the South African actors, Sharlto Copley who plays lead of Chappie, and supporting actors Yolandi and NINJA. (Don’t they have cool names??)

2.ITS NOT SET IN AMERICA.

It might be a really silly and insignificant reason, but the fact that this movie doesn’t take place in New York or any other part of States, which is always prone to alien attacks and zombie apocalypse, is comforting.

3.THE PLOT-

Its my first Neill Blompkamp movie, and I must state that I enjoyed every single moment of it. The concept of AI had to be introduced by some nerdy programmer scientist, Deon, played by Dev. Ex- military turned engineer, the main antagonist of the film,Vincent (Hugh) is someone who likes brute force and power. Jealous of the fame Deon is receiving, and the fact that his own drones gathering dust in the backyard takes him to the point where he jeopardizes the safety of the whole city, just so that he can have his way. Deon too, does something illegal to test out his personal creation which leads to birth of Chappie. Vincent’s robot, is an overkill, and looks like a boss of some video game.

The clash between Deon’s ideas of developing AI so that robots can think for themselves V/s Vincent’s method of controlling the heavily loaded and highly dangerous drone by himself is worth watching.

Then comes the gangster squad of Ninja,Yolandi and Americon who are forced to do some dirty work in order to save themselves.

So the story isn’t about Chappie alone, but also about the ugly human nature, which is always hungry for power,knowledge and money.

4.CHAPPIE-

The main reason to watch this film is to see the evolution of Chappie as a conscious robot. A loving and caring mom, a drug addict, violent and mean father,an understanding uncle,and his creator himself, Chappie is surrounded by so many people,all with different mindsets.

In the self-centered world he is living in, Chappie doesn’t lose his humble and kind-hearted nature. Being just a metal robot doesn’t stop Chappie from showing his emotions.

Chappie’s innocence is perfectly depicted in this poster.

 

You see this and you know he’s pissed!

Not only that he makes you love him by his childish antics in the beginning, makes your eyes moist as he feels pain(actually he can’t) but he surpasses his creator, his ‘maker’ and creates something bigger, better, something which only can be dreamed of.

His fear is evident here.

That exactly is the purpose of AI, to go beyond the capabilities of human mind to create something more. Every other film,(or at least many of them) focuses on the dark side of AI, but this one shows that if nurtured with love, AI can help solve the ultimate question, making fiction into reality.

You don’t need to read the caption to know what Chappie is saying…

Also, the true human nature of Chappie is revealed when he chooses to sacrifice himself over the life of his creator,multiple times throughout the movie.

The feeling when he sees someone of his own kind for the first time.

5.WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The end of the movie is such that its leaves a lot of room for its sequel to be produced. The story in itself, is complete, but it keeps the audience wanting for more, making them eager to know what could happen next. I would really love to watch its second part, with more human emotions portrayed by machines.

I repeat again, its not the same old “Artificial Intelligence taking over the world” kind of a story, but still begins with the inevitable disruption of human society. What leads to this you ask? Watch the movie and find out.

Chappie is a really under-rated movie, and if you want to watch something beautiful such as a machine more human than its creator himself, then this film makes up for a really touching as well as rewarding affair.
